Fact Check of Recent Allegations Against Passes

Passes has recently been the target of demonstrably false and defamatory allegations regarding its leadership and business practices. Passes takes these allegations very seriously and will defend itself vigorously. As a first step, Passes today filed a motion to dismiss these meritless claims against it.

Passes prides itself on delivering a world-class product and has worked diligently to foster a safe, creator-first platform with the best trust and safety measures available. Passes’ commitment to safety is central to its business. The following outlines Passes’ responses to each of these baseless accusations.

Passes wholly disapproves of the actions allegedly taken by the plaintiff’s previous talent team, Alec Celestin and Lani Ginoza.

Claim 1: Passes allows minors to share and promote explicit content on the platform.

Fact: As of February 2025, Passes does not allow creators under 18 on the platform. Historically, less than 1 percent of creators who have been on Passes since its launch have been under 18. To be clear, Passes has a zero tolerance policy towards the uploading and distribution of explicit content by any user, regardless of age, and the company actively works to identify and remove any image or video that violates its guidelines. Passes has a robust content moderation program, including industry-standard content moderation technologies, and its Trust & Safety team regularly reviews all content to ensure compliance with Passes’ policies.

Claim 2: Passes and Passes’ founder have encouraged creators to post explicit content.

Fact: Passes and its founder have never approved or condoned the posting of explicit content on the platform—nor would they. That is simply not their mission. Passes prides itself on its distinction from other subscription-based content platforms by being a completely safe-for-work platform. The company strictly forbids the uploading and distribution of explicit content and actively works to identify and remove any image or video that is in violation of its guidelines. In fact, as part of its ongoing commitment to safety, Passes hired one of the world’s top online safety experts and built a Trust & Safety team to ensure that it is the most secure, creator-friendly platform possible.

Claim 3: Passes has a lax approach to content moderation and uses outdated technology for vetting.

Fact: User safety is Passes’ top priority, and Passes utilizes best-in-class technologies and content moderation systems available to review all content uploaded to the platform. Passes has always maintained strict policies and technological safeguards, which are key to the company’s business model and its success. Passes continuously reviews its operations and systems to ensure they meet or surpass industry standards.

Claim 4: The only way for creators on the platform to monetize is to post suggestive or explicit content.

Fact: The idea that Passes creators cannot monetize without violating Passes’ terms of service/guidelines is absurd. Passes differentiates itself from other platforms by prohibiting any explicit content. On Passes, influencers and celebrities – from artists and athletes to astrologists and psychics – successfully monetize their fanbase by providing behind-the-scenes access with exclusive photos and videos, livestreamed content, and community spaces where creators and fans can interact in a group setting.

Claim 5: Passes has regularly failed to address concerns raised by creators and users about explicit content.

Fact: Passes works around the clock to make sure that violations of its guidelines are reported and censored immediately, and its Creator Success Team is in constant communication with creators. As soon as the company is made aware of any concerns, it takes immediate action and bolsters its security measures.  For more details on this process, visit this blog post.

Passes is committed to protecting all of its users and has strict policies in place to swiftly enforce its guidelines the moment it is made aware of any concerns. Passes continuously adapts and collaborates with its community to uphold the highest standards of safety and security, and to improve and further enhance the features of the platform.
