Understanding Chargebacks

A chargeback (also called a "dispute") happens when someone contacts their credit card company to report a charge as unauthorized or fraudulent. This can occur due to several reasons:

  1. The cardholder does not recognize the charge
  2. A family member, partner, or relative used the card without permission
  3. The card was actually stolen and used fraudulently

How Chargebacks Affect Your Earnings

When a chargeback occurs, the payment must be refunded and additional processing fees are charged by the credit card company. While Passes covers these extra fees, the original payment amount is deducted from your account balance.
